Job Description:
The City of Warren is accepting applications for the position of Appraiser Aide. Employees in this position perform a variety of duties involving routine technical field tasks and office work related to the determination of assessments for residential real and personal property. Reviews and processes legal documents relative to property ownership and residency. Investigates and determines validity of Principal Residence Exemption Affidavits and Property Transfer Affidavits. Creates and maintain records relative to the appraisal of residential real and personal property. Prepares case files for Michigan Tax Tribunal appeals. Assists the Appraisal staff.


  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Copy of diploma or transcripts required with application
  • Michigan certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) professional designation from Michigan State Tax Commission
  • Proof required with application
  • Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Michigan
  • Driving record must meet city's standards for insurability
  • Driver's license required with application

Pay rate: $35,1000/year - $42,750/year
